General
Dataflow Manager is a flexible, technology agnostic solution that may be
applied in various ways to complement existing technologies in an enterprise
or to support a single study in managing the end-to-end study workflow. The
data intelligence provided through Dataflow Manager may also be leveraged
by other 3rd party technologies through Dataflow Manager APIs or plug-
ins. PharmaPros deploys Dataflow Manager as Software as a Service (SaaS)
model, with training and data lifecycle support services.
Dataflow Manager aggregates data across data sources using web services API's, using the CDISC ODM. We sometimes call this “virtual integration”, as no data is actually moved.
For high latency source data unavailable through this method, such as local labs, Dataflow Manager also utilizes physical data consolidation via data export, transformation, and load (ETL).
Dataflow Manager’s first-in-class status was attained through fundamental
features that differentiate it from any other technology used to manage
clinical trials today. The following concepts represent the driving force of
the solution, and its ability to assist companies in meeting the aggressive
demands of clinical trials management in an eClinical world.
Technology agnostic:
Works with any data source or data analysis technology
Process automation:
Automates the manual processes inherent in managing clinical trials by tracking operational study information from site initiation through data analysis
Integrated study workflow:
Harmonizes disparate workflows and normalizes terminology across a technology enterprise
Universal interface:
Acts as a central dashboard or console to support all trial constituents, eClinical systems, and data sources
Any and all trial constituents can use Dataflow Manager: Project Managers, CRA's, Data Managers, Statisicians and Executives can collaborate through Dataflow Manager, using the same information to drive study decisions. The solution provides a global workflow layer, surfacing data critical to the different functional groups that make up a study team or business unit.
Dataflow Manager doesn't necessarily need to replace any existing technologies a customer may be using. Dataflow Manager replaces manual processes, and workflows that happen outside of existing technology solutions. What Dataflow Manager is designed replace is manual tools such as Excel spreadsheets, which are still being relied upon to aggregate and report critical trial metrics. Dataflow Manager was designed to liberate trial managers from spreadsheets, and break down informational silos that force executives to make decisions with latent information at best, and at worst, inaccurate information.
